The manufacture date is 02/2023, over 3 years old, they have a maximum lifespan of 10 years from manufacture so they are probably not the bargain I thought they were.

We added this product to the clearance area knowing it still had 7 years left, as it still falls within the maximum lifespan of 10 years from manufacture for Portwest Lanyards. Altogether an excellent piece of kit. Well engineered for the task of capstan winching with plenty of positive power and a relatively quiet engine too. The winch is easier to operate when fixed to a rigid tree anchor plate, than when secured only via an endless strop in my view. This is mainly due to the unit remaining level and thus avoiding the possibility of the engine tilting and stopping because of it's oil alert safety feature. Top drawer in all respects with good service from Cable Jacks.
